Miller Jeep Trail this weekend (3/30)

Several people from 'that other board' are going to run Miller Jeep trail this weekend. I figured I'd let anyone here who might be interested know as well...

Meeting place is the Flying J in Frazier Park at 9:00 AM on Sat. March 30. I went with Alex (Handlebars) and a few others two weeks ago, and it was a great run. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any snow excursions are being planned this time I'm in teh red XJ with the primered hood & roof: http://fototime.com/ftweb/bin/ft.dll...-97D2A99CF3B6} (I love this shot, Alex!)

Post or e-mail if you're interested!!

Chuck, I'll be pavement pounding all weekend and won't make it. Keep an eye out for my old CB antenna. It fell off about halfway up Alamo Mountain... Here's the last known picture of it:

BTW, I did get a new one, how long do you think it will take for some RAT BASTARD to take this one?

Alex,
I'll be the RATBASTARD. If you're pavement pounding, I'll be glad to pick you up on the way. I'm going this time. Just let me know.

Hey Alex,

While we're on the subject of your CB antenna, where did you get the mount for it? I'm working on upgrading my antenna (got the quick disconnect, spring and firestick) but haven't been able to find a mount like yours.

Roy, I'm using the Firestik MK204R Hatch / Door jamb Mini-Mount, you can get it at Valco Electronics.

Here's a close look at the mount as I installed it on my XJ.

When you install the mount, use ALL 4 mounting holes. And use bolts with nuts and flat washers on the inside, don't get lazy and use sheetmetal screws. Tiffster used the sheetmetal screws on hers and it fell off. A fiberglass antenna applies a lot of force to that mount, you need it to be really solidly supported. And while I'm at it, use the Firestik external-style quick release, not the internal one. The external one is a little more beefy and hopefully will last more than 18 months before shedding my new antenna.
