Question Where to buy MREs?

Does anyone know of a good place to get MREs? The military ones, case of 12, go for about $50 plus shipping on e-bay, and for about $70 plus shipping from on-line stores.

Any Army surplus store should have them, or try www.sportsmansguide.com

$44.97 + shipping or $40. if a member.

Each meal contains approximately 2000 calories.
Wow, that's nearly a day's supply.

Cool

Chuck, hook me up.

BTW, both "Cheaper than Dirt", and "Sportsman Guide" are out of stock.

MREs !!! I hope you get the second generation meals.

The first gen MREs were pretty awful. Sure you can eat 'em, but you gotta be tough. I recall trying to feed an "omelette with ham" to a stray dog. The dog was wise enough not to touch it.

I personally haven't had an MRE since 10-94, and I don't miss 'em.

BTW if you really want a calorie load try getting the arctic version of MRE. They have something on the order of 5000 calories per meal (and we were issued 2 per day) Lots of good snack type stuff in those as well.

those are pretty good indeed
Ate some of them last week during the Moab trip. It's almost like unpacking Christmas presents

Military surplus stores should have them for around 45 bucks per box (12 meals)
