While the hook looks the same and the line looks somewhat similar, it doesn't look exactly the same as my Masterpull. Interesting though and the line can be repaired.

Thanks Jeff. It would be a little easier to do that splice if you use a real splicing fid. I will check with Emil and see what he recommends.
My most favorite thing ever said about me.- You are definitely an acquired taste.

If they hand splice the ropes that hold tugs to a barge I think you should be able to splice the masterpull stuff.

Had a chance to actually look at some MP last night at my club meeting. One of the West Coast members won a MP line at Toys for Tots - he's going to try it out on his 8750 Warn.
He spent quite a bit of time with Warn's engineers on the phone yesterday, evidently they have backed off on some of their reservations with the Masterpull line. And it was purple! Jeff, I am assuming the 8750 is the upright winch? If so, running the MP line is a non-issue. That winch does not have an internal drum brake to produce the heat that can damage the line.

blaine, just outa curiosity, what's the best price you've found on this stuff? Don't know what the max line length is on my Ramsey REP 9000, but I've got 105' of steel on it now.
Not a "hot" issue, as I have Dr. Yates "old" line to put on now, but we engineering types love to do costing forcasts Jeff 94 YJ, one or three mods Resistance to rockcrawling is futile - you WILL be assimilated.......... http://jmcrae.rockcrawler.com
