Assignment: Take a pet picture

Using your digital camera, take a picture of your pet/s. No red eye pictures. Ok, lets see what you can come up with.

His name is Clancy

His name is Clancy. He is 12+ years old. He is a Bernice (cousin to a St. Bernard) and he recently got clipped down so he stays cool.

Anyway, when he was younger (and more agile), he would sneak up on the furniture at night and sleep. When I got up in the AM to go to work, he would hear me walking down hallway and slip down before I caught him. Of course, the couch would be warm so I knew he was there.

For quite some time, he had stopped sleeping on the couch at night because his hips are getting bad. He weighs 95 pounds and that is a bunch of dog to pull up onto the couch when only your front axle is being driven!

I got up the other morning and found him on the couch. He heard me coming, and did actually lift his head to look at me and give the international signal for "I am not dead, do not haul me away yet." After doing so, he put his head back down and went to sleep (he snores and farts a lot too!)

Here's TJMAC the Super Dog! He's a Cairn (Toto) Terrier. 11 Years old and still pretty active. He gets the newspaper in the morning and meets the mailman for a piece of junk mail every day. He helps carry the groceries in and if there's nothing for him to carry we sneak something out for him.
He tolerates Jeepin' for the lizard action that goes with it. He is also a ventriloquist. He farts a lot but makes it sound like they come from me.

I like the way my Jeep is now..... I'd just like it, well, a little higher off the ground with more ground clearance!

My photo was taken last week. I guess you can call that old, but then that would then make TJRON 1st cousins to the cavemen! LOL

Meet Brandy

This, I can do .. just took a picture of her a couple of days ago. Also, two from the summer time ...
This is Brandy, she is our 5 year old Pitt Bull - Chow mix. She really is a very nice dog, contrary to what most people think before they meet her. When we first got her, she could hide under the couch, not she usually is on the couch Her only downfall is that deep down inside, she really thinks that she is a person

Her she is, playing in the sun

and here she is as a fearless frog fisherdog

One of my cats

His name is Dandylion. He looked like a puff of white fluff when we got him as a kitten. He likes to have his tail pulled and his is about 5 years old. I have three other cats, I tried to take pictures of them but they don't like it. I will keep trying.

Fishing dogs? I got that covered. Mac loves to "re-catch" the fish I've all ready caught and put on a stringer.
In this picture he was going nuts trying to get my coho samon in Colorado. They were in too deep for him and he kept falling off the slippery stick that extended into the river. It was great fun watching his frustration!

What's next?

Ron, you got a second camera, didn't you? Gave the wife the first one? What did you get that you can zoom that good with?

Amy,
I don't know which picture you are talking about. The first one was with a Olympus 2040 that has a 3 1/2 zoom. The dog fishing one was with a SLR film camera with a 50 or 35 mm lens. I blew it up I think. It's a couple years old and not very good quality.
The second digital camera I bought is an Olympus 2000 UZ (ultra zoom). I really like it , it has a 10X optical glass zoom lens with a built in stabilizer. One reason I'm not a big zoom lens fan is you really need to stabilize the camera to use that kind of power. I don't think there is much difference in taking a picture with a big lens and a shaking camera than taking one with a smaller lens and blowing it up. This camera has a stabilizer like those in camcorders. It really works!
The word is that Olympus pays Cannon some fee or something for this lens and the camera was expected to sell for big bucks which it didn't. Olympus discontinued them and they are selling what's left for around $500.
I don't think a camera like this is going to exist again for that price, at least that's what the camera nuts on camera forums are saying.
Here is a review and picture of the camera.

I was wondering if that was what you got .. I drove my husband crazy trying to find one, and I did (find one, not drive him crazy ... well, maybe both )
Now I have the C-3030 and will have the C-2100UZ as soon as I go pick it up.

Amy, I, and other people have found them at WallMart. You have to ask them usually. I called around. Yes it is the 2100UZ.

Let me know how you like it! I've spent a lot of time with the instructions. I actually am getting use to most of the features but still have lots to learn.

Here's a few of my dog.

I found her like this after getting up to get some water at 5am.

This is after this past weekend's run to Jackhammer.

And here's her on most any Saturday morning.

The Bud Dog

This picture was taken with a 35mm camera. My digital camera is on the way, I should receive it in a couple of days.

Sorry I'm so tardy with this assignment.

This first cat is Madison. She's a British Short Hair and is doing here what all cats do best: sleeping.

This cat is Chicken. The name is also a description of his personality. He tends to scare easily. He's a Main Coon. He's doing his favoriate activity here: looking at the squirrels out on the lawn. He does this until falling asleep.

This is STOLE she is about 5 yrs old. Australian Shepard / Husky mix.
The older she gets the better she gets.
As for being a guard dog she is anything but.....
She sleeps on her back with all 4 paws is the air and snores loud
enough to wake the dead.

Here is my jeeper dog Gizzy, she is a 4 year old Boson Terrier who thinks she is a human....
I am sure some questions will come up about the diaper, well she is far to spoiled to stay outside, and errr. umm,,well,, its a female thing.... So the only way I would agree to her staying in the house during this period (no pun intended ) was to wear a diaper which she has never tried to tear off ..

This is Mason

My all-american (with German lineage of course) Jeep Dog!

I'm glad that at 150 lbs he's small for a full-grown Great Dane. Still fits in the Jeep... just barely!

We tease Justin & Danielle about not needing a winch when they have Mason around. He is the most gentle, well mannered, & slightly spoiled monster I have ever met. I wish I had a picture of the time when Danielle was sitting on the couch, Mason laying upside down on her lap getting his belly rubbed. (Keep in mind that Mason outweighs her by about 50 Lbs. or so)

Did you have to add spring spacers to the rear to accomodate the extra weight? or do you just carry less tools?

Thats one big dog you've got there!
