price?

As a side note, anyone have an idea of what a fair price to a friend for 4 used 31/10.5 BFG AT KOs and one unused spare would go for?

The side walls are scuffed, but intact and the tread is about down to 50% (maybe a little less) with fairly even wear.

I was thinking $25 per used tire and $50 for the spare.

Or maybe just $100 for the spare and toss in the used tires for free?

Just wonder what you guys would come up with.

Thanks

Grey 98 ZJ.

Amy, I have replied to your e-mail twice now and it keeps getting kicked back to me. Just letting you know that I got it and will send the gears as soon as I have them in my possession.

hmmmm, really? Are you replying or using the old email adr you had for me? Actually, I can't remember where I sent that email from ... Anyhow, if you are sending it to the tir.com acct, yes, that will come back to you. If you are sending it to Yahoo, that should come through to me. Which one are you sending to, so I will know if I have a problem.
By the way, THANKS So Much .. .You are still my hero

[edit]That was the last email that I sent from tir.com .. sorry 'bout that, wasn't even thinking. You can find me at mosjajs@yahoo.com. Thanks!

I see my name was mentioned so I'll add a bit of info on my Dana 35........
It scares me!
I should have zippers on my diff covers. Today I pulled the Detroit and Superior axles just to eyeball things real good. The Detroit fell out when I took off the retainers. This means the bearing preload was non exsistant. I used bigger spacers to get it back in line. Why did this happen? I would imagine the pumpkin has flexed a bit? I only added about .004" to each side, which could be a normal thing for all I know, but it scares me. The pros spread the case for preload and I have heard of them still falling out, even on bigger diffs.

My friend that sets up diffs for a living told me it is common for the carrier to do what mine did if the bearings aren't set right. He says after they press the bearings in they have a brass colar thing they smack with a BFH to set the bearings to avoid this!
Sounds Whacky to me but that's what he says they do. I put my bearings in gently with a brass punch.

Keep an eye out for them.

Sorry for the delay Amy. I have a really big distraction in my garage right now and have been really focused on that and let a few things slip through the cracks.

No, really, this is a daily driver and that would be the max that I would go on this one.

Amy I said that a Million times. I understand what you are going through!

Now, I'm trying to posistion my self. Not to make fun of you, but I know what you are going through. If you can, build in mind of going that way.. and if you don't, you're beefed up. If you do, when the time comes, you'll be ready.
