My Buddy Moab

My Golden Retriever Moab passed away on July 2 from liver cancer....Moab he was truly a wonderful dog...had more
personality than imagineable....I have been lucky with my dogs (Moab, Utah & Tucson) as I have been retired since I got them and have been able to spend a great deal of time with them.

Moab was my Number 1 and he knew it...drove Miss Sue up the walls some times as he would question what she said...he always listened to her but would grump the whole time...it was quite funny. He was the dog who had about 7 nicknames and would answer to each and everyone of them.

He passed away quietly and with dignity...he was very strong...I spent the last 6 nights sleeping on the floor with him as I didn't want him to leave alone.

Though I miss him and so do Utah and Tucson ( they have been
insepeparable since his passing) I feel a great deal of relief.

When I found out last December that he was sick I asked him to stay around for the birth of Danni..and he did that..

He was truly a wonderful companion.

I only wished I knew more people like him.

So sorry to hear this Cutch. Each one of my dogs is a family member and more important to me than 90% of my family.
If you do a search on "Rainbow Poem" you may find some comfort there. It helped me when our 14 y/o passed a bit back.

Sorry for you loss, Cutch...and I agree wholeheartedly with this part. I wish more people were like most dogs.

Godspeed, Moab.

Cutch, I am well aware of your feelings as I had to put down my jeep dog and friend of 15 years about a year ago. We spread his ashes on a local trail that he always enjoyed. I got a new dog about 4 days later as it was just to hard around the house with out a dog. I hope you your other dogs help you through this.

Im sorry for your loss Cutch.

I too have dogs that are as much family as my parents and children.

When our last dog passed after 15 years of devoted friendship. Our other two dogs moped for a few weeks. We ended up getting a new pup for the family, and though she will never replace the one we lost, she certainly took our hearts and minds off of it.

My condolences to you and your family.

Tam

Oh man that's too bad cutch, it makes me sad to read about this. I bawled like a baby after Sandy, my yellow lab, died from cancer so I can understand and empathize with you over your loss.
