brake line T block mounting on rear axle

Hi,
I am going to replace my rear axle with a Dana 44 which is brand new and therefore does not have something already there for me to mount my new stock YJ rear brake line/T block.
I know on my current Dana 35, the big hole in the T block has the axle breather hose running thru it. Looking at the below pictures you can tell that my brake line does not seem to fit over this the breather on the new axle the same way it does the old one.
That is OK though because I really would prefer to mount this T block a little closer to the spring perch so that I have more slack in the line for a higher lift in the distant future.
My questions are:
Is it all right that I just take a bolt and tack weld it to the housing and put the hole in the T block on the bolt and tighten it down with a nut kind of like in the pictures?
Should I reverse it and tack the nut to the housing instead?
Is there some other way to do this that I am overlooking?
Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?
If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

I know this isn't rocket science, but brakes are important and I'd rather not hurt someone in an auto accident caused by my ruptured brakes spewing fluid across the dirt.
It doesn't hurt much for me to ask advice about it beforehand.
Thanks for your help,
ty

Cut the head off of the bolt so the block will sit closer to the axle tube. Weld it after you chamfer the stud to keep the weld low profile. You're golden from there.

hooray I did it...
Sunday was my first day of welding and I succeeded in not becoming a Johnny Tremain look-a-like

Here is the outcome plus a fresh coat of paint:

(bolt is inbetween the brake line holder and the brass breather)
