Harpers Flat Dam it!

This stuff is off a very popular Borrego trail. Long forgotten untill Bill found it in a hiking book. HArper has an early turn of the centry rancher. This is all after heart attack hill....the Pinyon trail...

Harper Dam # 1, this area was a ranch long ago

Harper Dam # 2

Harpers House 1920's

The pantry untouched, theres even a ole wooden bed in there!

Hot chicks and donuts dont mix!

You know Joe, I was really looking forward to a good hike!
Heres the problems:

After dropping into the first trail theres a sign " 4 wheel drive required , soft sand ahead" so about 2 miles theres this car stuck to its frame in sand. Its stuck really good. I give the man a shovel , tell him to dig out the front so I can either strap or line him out . Dang car dont have anything to grab. The guy dont know swit what to do. So I go under to lookie. Nada nothing to grab, wait a engine mount ( front wheel drive) . So I got the but crack sand thing going..not happy. Everything now hooked up...I say to myself...maybee I punch it hard and rip out his engine..( little ****ed by now). Ok lost 2 hrs with this guy and his wife they be safe.

Now its 10:00 ok lets go I say. 30 min later I drop into a creek bed..dang another stucky This time a van, ok 1 hr later they be free. I'm loosing time. I only have Saturday.

later (1:00pm) I approach harpper flat, one small water fall to go down, its 1:00pm dang theres a stock ford ranger at the bottom. He be there all night. I'm not happy. This guy came in from the squeeze and the drop off..what a jeerk!

I tell him I will line him out after I do my hiking. Ask him if he's ok, he says ya.
Then blows me a rash of swit, screw him. Ran into some other rigs , they said they pull him out.

Ok then the hot girly thing on the way out.

Is it ok to flip theses idiots off? I only got in 2 hrrs hiking because of this....

So how did the donuts play into all of this?

Looked like a pretty bad roll.

Donuts is the slang for taking your rig and going around in circles , tire catches something unmovable and flippy. The belt only held the driver partialy in, the rig ended up on him.

Park police estimated he was doing about 40 when he desided to donut.

Show off for short. He's lucky to be alive.

WHO DOES DONUTS IN A JEEP?

I mean, short narrow wheel base, higher center of gravity= donuts stupid. This guy mustve been really stupid to be doing donuts in a Jeep.

So stupid in fact, it was beyond my comprehension that he could have been doing them. Which made me think it had something to do with the "hot girls" eatin' donuts instead of paying attention to where they were driving, which makes WAY more sense then what actually happened. Both being stupid of course.

Another example of survival of the fittest?
