Yep, shooting a sniper rifle out at sea is a fun thing.

On my first ship, USS William H. Standley (CG-32) I was the designated sniper during one of my deployments aboard her.

I kept my own personel sniper rifle down in the ships armory & took it out on a regular basis to practice shooting at floating targets. Lots of fun!

I use to get lots of stares from folks when I carried it down the piers on base.
