Straightening and Strengthening Currie Tie Rod
I've got all the bends out of my tie rod except the end at the Drag Link as seen here.
Looking for idea's for straightening it without collapsing the half's and ruining the threads. Also is there anyway to strengthen this area? Would a tubing clamp vs. the clamp currie provides help? |

That's what I did and it worked well. Is there anyway to strengthen that part of the tie rod?

I talked to John Currie about that a year or two ago and he said they purposely made it exactly as strong as it is. They could have easily heat treated it a little differently to make it more bend-resistant but that would have just made it more likely that other stuff would have broken. With that, I just bought another Currie tie-rod & carried it as a spare & straighten the tie-rod as necessary.
