ideas for windshield washer fluid resevoir

I will be needing to relocate my stock unit soon. I was hoping to replace it with something a bit smaller. Does anyone have a vehicle with a differant type resevoir that may fit in an alternate location under the TJ hood??? any other ideas???

thanks.

Brian.

You could either get a universal pump from Pep Boys and use this FLEXBIBLE RESERVOIR that I mentioned from early Mustangs or perhaps find a smaller reservoir from a universal radiator overflow and drill the appropriate sized hole in the side of it and re-use your factory pump. Or, if you don't like those options, try 619-561-7764

With flexible reservoir, there is no pump needed. Just mount the reservoir inside the cabin within reach, every time a squirt is required ? squish the bag.

Sticking your arm out the window with a bottle of windex comes to mind here.

Quite a few Ford products from Mustang to vans, pickups in mid to late 60's had the "bag" reservoir.

for the record... I've gotten just enough crap about this pump to be just that much more determined to install it.

plus... removing the stock washer fluid resevoir should make ample room for the power steering fluid resevoir. I think...

that's my story, I'm stickin' to it.

Can I translate?

I've gotten just enough crap about this pump that I am determined to find someone I can coerce into a bunch of extra fab and hack work just to be about equal with a bolt in stock replacement from Howe.

I thought the rule was that it had to stay the way it came from the factory?

Did it come with a P pump?

rules are made to be broken.

really, if I just get the smaller resevoir/overflow can the only real fab will be the ps fluid resevoir mount. Which we need to do anyway. (read: I'll take care of that other stuff myself)

Man Robert - that is hitting below the belt. Give the man $hit about bringing a girl he doesn't know on a first date to the Hammers when his Jeep can't even make the trails and they have to walk, or you can also give him **** about his ABS capable $6000 D44, or his "stock" Atlas 10.9 (or whatever), or the P Pump that requires $300 worth of mods to fit, but NOT HIS CHAIR!!!!!

It's all in love Brian!

Where's the radiator overflow reservoir. It did come with one from the factory, didn't it?

It didn't come with this one, but it will work. It gives an inch and a half more room for the pulley.

If it did not come with this one, then why the hell are you showing it? {feeling a little grumpy }

listen chris.. if you want the whole run down on this mod i'll give it to ya.

I had a leaky steering box. i asked for opinions on what to do. I got this responce.

Quote:
Get an upgraded box from either Lee MFG or PSC...

If I were to upgrade pumps at this point, I would go with PSC's "P" pump that is slightly relocated with the remote reservoir...
so I did.

later it was decided that there was an easier conversion available. that then became the thing to do. I recieved plenty of pressure to go that route. I paddled upsteam. I've found ways to make this product work for my application. I'm going with it. thank you.

Brian.

I'll get it for you - I have to call Lee and find out where the box I ordered is anyway.

My buddy has that set up in his TJ..... he mounted the resevoir over next to brake booster, leaving his washer bottle in place Looks like a nice set up.

I found you an inexpensive flexible reservoir for your windshield wiper.

You can find it at your local Sav-On, no need to dig through rusty hulks at the junkyard.

Nice looking reservoir. I think it could also double as an enema. Nothing like a good enema after a trail run.

So how did your buddy get that reservoir around all the ABS crap?
