Colorado & Utah

I know this is short notice, but I wanted to toss it out there just incase.

Sergey & I are traving to Colorado (21 Road/Billings Canyon area near Grand Junction) late next week. Hopefully we'll be leaving the San Diego area sometime on Thursday & arrive in CO NLT Friday.

I spoke with Chris Overacker earlier today & maybe he'll be joining us for some wheeling which would be real nice since I haven't seen/wheeled with him in 2+ years.

I anticipate being in Moab sometime next Sunday & spend ~6 days there wheeling.

If any folks would like to join in on the fun, that would be awesome.

BTW: Larry & Wendy will be in Moab too during the same timeframe & I'm certain a few other JU folks. There's a thread in the general Trail Rides forum of JU if anybody is interested in taking a look at that.

Have been trying to figure out a way I could make this work, but unfortunately I can't pull it off for this time frame.

If anyone is wanting to go to Colorado a bit later in the year we would be interested

Thumbs up

AWESOME David!

I would love that to happen Larry. David & Lynne are really squeezing things as it is. Perhaps if we apply some pressure, he & Lynne will cave in.

Hmm, 3 days till we hit the road.....but who's counting?

Probably not unfortunately. I have a couple of things that I don't think I can palm off onto anyone else.
If there is even a slight chance of making it for a day or so, we will try, but it isn't looking hopeful just now.

You should leave a couple of days early and come to Colorado

I am ready to go. This is going to be a lot of fun. I am really looking forward to meet everybody, and see all those places in Colorado and Utah.

Now I just need to push through a ton of paperwork in my office; this is going to be a long night.

Thanks Matt, we sure will. Sergey & I hope to be leaving the San Diego area by lunchtime tomorrow/Thursday. I'll be sure to give you a wave as we pass the Escondido area.

Good times Matt.

Cool

The dive out of San Diego was all right, we got lucky with the traffic and everything; we were making pretty good time. But, once we got to Vegas, by the Mandalay Bay, the truck started making ticking noises that quickly developed into noticable banging. Long story short, Joe's Hemmy bit the dust. The truck is now sitting at the dealer in Las Vegas waiting for the new long block to come in.

My brother brought a spare truck from San Diego. And we are now safely to Wally's place in Grand Junction, Colorado. We are going wheeling tomorow morning -- taking off at 7:30 AM.

Wow, what an incredible vacation it was. Unbelievable locations, and all the friends on the trails make it just great.

I am home. I will get some sleep; and then try to write some trail reports and sort through the pictures.

Thank goodness!!!!

I just got a call from the dealership & my new short block hemi is installed along with a new cam, oil pump, some bearings and some other misc items.

I called my sister in Vegas and she'll be picking it up shortly.

Too bad I have to go to Oxnard tomorrow AM. I'll go to Vegas later to pick the truck up & reinstall my camper.

Joe,

As a fellow Hemi owner, what was the problem with your engine and were there any warning signs or concerns prior to it letting go? Is it a freak occurance or are these things problematic?

This is the first vehicle ever that I actually purchased the extended warranty, only because they were having employee pricing on it so it was less than a thousand dollars to take me to 100,000 miles.

BTW, mine is in the shop as we speak to take care of two different recalls.

So folks know, I didn't blow-off Jeff. We spoke over the phone & I filled him in on the details so things don't get blown out of proportion.
