Camber angle & bad ball joints
Ok, I know nothing about ball joints that are on the knuckles that hold the wheels to the axle... but they're apparently bad enough that one of my front wheel's camber angle is definitely negative, the top is tilted in at least. I've been hearing a bit of a 'popping' from my front end lately too that I don't think is anything like the trackbar or drag link... which makes me wonder if it could be the ball joint... could it be if it's bad enough?
My shops do ball joint replacements all the time and I don't so I'm going to let them do it. $40 sound good (with my employee discount) for the pair of new ball joints? What's a typical length of time to install them so my camber angle is restored back to where it should be?
I know there are adjustable ball joints but don't know much about them. If I install regular ball joints, won't that get the camber angle back to where it's "close enough"?
I'll replace both sides at once... what do you think a regular shop would charge? Is this a substantial job when doing both sides, time-wise?
