Nice choice Robert. I had a 2001 Accord before my Jeep loved that car. I have owened 4 hondas in my life and have had good luck with all of them.

Does the Ca Highway patol still use motorcycles or was that just a bad TV show from the early 80's "CHIPS"?

I have only been to Ca once for training at 3Com - Palm back a few years ago when those two companies were toghter but they are located in Santa Claira thats really not Souther CA.

Yes - they recently upgraded from their Kawasaki 1100 to these cool BMW bikes.

You picked the wrong LX.

http://superdave369.home.comcast.net...0cdrifting.avi

You could have even justified it by the fact it has the electronically controlled multi-displacement for better gas milage.

the hybrids are spendy. given their limited numbers and the fact that they move everyone they get, its no wonder. I wanted to pay only so much and economy was my priority - not performance.

fawk the oil companys and fawk the feds for approving all the mergers which has on ly served to concentrate refining capacity and drive up the price of gas.. this japanese car is me flipping them all off - I outsourced.

Your outsourcing orientation is not standard. Should have bought an Indian car.

In the 45K miles that Rober will be putting on the vehicle, the hybrid will only save him about $600 in gas, probably not being nearly enough to justify the extra cost. The only way I'd go hybrid is if legislation passes that they too can drive solo in the carpool lane. Until then, even with current incentives, it doesn't pencil.

Most Honda cars are made in Ohio "Accord I know is and I think Civc is also. Your Honda is more US made then most of the new Ford's on the road do some reseach you will see. Your purchase supported a lot of US workers including workers in my home state. The Plant is less then 40 miles from my house. The Jap car makers are producing cars here in the US and Ford, DC and GM are going to Mexico why would you want to buy an American make car? Except the Jeep it's made here in Ohio also.

Now that you mention it, I don't recall seeing any auto factories on the reservations when I was growing up.

Wow I'm surprized I think most of the Hondas on this side of the US are made right here. Here is some old news about the 1000000 th honda civc built in Ohio. It states that they are made in 12 different countries though. Must be a CA thing.

I must say, my ZJ gets 14MPG if I'm lucky but, I drive in alot of traffic and for a $1.80 a gallon, its worth it for me to be in a larger vehicle with an ARB bumper. I'll drive a car and be tailgated and cut off like crazy. In my Jeep, I don't get cut off or tailgated nearly as much. So heck with the gas, my guzzler buys me a safe cousion on the road!

I wouldn't fool yourself on the safety of the ZJ. The '98, for example, only got 3 out of 5 stars for both driver and passenger front crash protection. Even the Wrangler beats it with 4 out of 5 stars.

The Civic? Surprise, it gets 5 out of 5 stars for both driver and passenger.

you have completely missed the point of why I bought this car.

frankly, if I wanted a bunch of metal around me on the road, I would load my fully armored tj on my all metal 2 axle trailer and then hook that whole mess up to my 1986 3/4 ton 4wd suburban. I figure that's good for 32 feet and 11000 lbs worth of "stay out of my way". obviously at that point, gas milage and your zj amongst all the other grocery getters on the road, are not much of a concern

Well excuse the hell out of me! Go ahead and pull out in front of me! Well see who has the last word then! As for grocery getter, I got a bag full of eggs and tomatos to throw at your car. Obviously the post I typed was misenturpreted somehow. I have no beef with you whoever you are. Sarcasim must go both ways. I was not critizing , just commenting. You sure found a good way to insulting ones opinion! End of discussion.

Hi Phil, if you look at Jeff's post, you will notice this little guy- ,
that would be a grin, no harm meant, he is just pointing out that if you may have thought you were driving a tank, it has in fact been tested and the ratings it received don't exactly indicate that.

I don't think you'd really enjoy taking a hit from a Geo Metro at 70 in the middle of your driver's door, would you?

If you want to talk tanks, try pulling that uni body wonder out in front of my 7500 pound diesel motored SD crew cab.

I know for a fact that the frame under my truck is 1/4" thick and boxed steel 3" wide and 8" tall in the front to hold up the motor.

I think the GC only got a 3 star rating in front crashes becasue the front wheels collapsed the passanger compartment foot well in the accident, which lead to lower body trauma, in an otherwise fine crash test dummy.

That wouldn't be such a problem for those of us that drive slightly lifted GC's, since the tire would just get folded under the body.

Still, I'm not sure what the arb bumper would actually change as far as force distribution in an accident. At least ARB went the extra step to make sure the bull bar didn't interfear with airbag deployment.

Still, I'd take being in my ZJ over my first car, which was a nissan sentra, back when japan still hadn't gotten the memo that cars aren't supposed to be made of tinfoil.

Who said anything about pulling out in front of you?

You brought up the issue of respect on the road and frankly, I don't care what a person drives because unless you are a total neandrathal, getting respect on the road has nothing to do with the vehicle. Its not about size.

Besides, you can't end this discussion as its my thread

Talking

What respect are you talking about? There is no such thing.

Stopped at the green light this morning, as the lane in front of me was full. What the person behind me does? Anyone? Correct! Lay on the horn.

It is expected of you to block the intersection, and any other behavior is considered offensive.

Sergey, I'd lay on the horn if I were behind you too - I've seen you drive

Were you in the Ford? Even funnier if you were
