Any one use a toe stick?

I have a stick I use for front end toe adjustment. I cut the stick (1"x1" or so) to barely fit between the front tires at 35# pressure. I trim the stick so it will pass through the back of the tires and barely get stuck passing through the front. To get fancy, cut the stick short, drill a hole in it to accept an an adjustable bolt.
I have also used this method with a stick found on the trail to get close in emergencies.

I don't know if the guy that looks at that little screen minds being called a toe stick, but it's probably not as bad as the things some people call him.

Wow, your post brought back memories. I was a mechanic in the US Army from 73-75. There was actually a tool like your stick to align the front end of the M151A1.

I use two pieces of flat stock and four soup cans. The cans hold the flat stock up off the floor so they can rest on the sides of the tire, then I measure front and back using the edge of the flat stock as my tape measure reference. It's handy to have two people for my method. I need to build a stick that can reference the outside of the tire plus have a reference to measure on the other side.
