preparing for Thanksgiving run -> RV rental

Hello all,

in preparation for this year's Thanksgiving run, I'm looking into options for renting an RV.
I know it's pretty open question depending on what you want, how big and how much money you want to spend, but I was wondering what y'all would recommend. A toilet and shower are a must to keep the better half happy (and I don't mind either ).
I've been looking around on the web, but it's easy to get lost and I didn't find anything close to JV. Maybe in Phoenix on the way up there, but are there any places close by that you know of, for a reasonable price?
Any info is welcome!

Only 2 more months to go

Gerald might know someone too, I think he used to have an RV rental business.

Ron, I saw someone asking about that on Pirate for KOH...maybe hunt on there for a thread. There was one in particular that they said to stay away from.

JoesRV looks like they are consignment rentals. Based on what we saw of that type of rental, they are often pretty old and shabby. It may be a bit more money and a farther drive (Carson), but Altmans rents current year RVs with less than 15k miles.

We've rented from them a few times and have been happy with the RV. Don't forget all the extras when figuring the pricing (insurance, cleaning fee, mileage).

You may want to checkout craigslist for the Inland Empire:

I have rented an RV before from a local place here in San Diego back in '01. They were awesome at the time, but I have not dealt with them again since.

If you have a way to call me that won't cost you an arm & a leg in fees - do so. I have another idea you may want to consider. If you need my number, let me know.

Don't forget to factor in towing ability, if you haven't already. Any decent size rock rig (TJ, YJ, etc.) with trailer will exceed the towing capacity of a Class C (last time I checked).

Check some of these private motorhomes out you can get a small class C to a Prevost. It all depends on how much you want to spend. There are some nice one with all of the bells and whistles so you won't need to worry about getting extra stuff.

Two years ago the guy from Phx that tagged along with us in the CJ got one on his way out from PHX, got it in Indio. It was Crusie America and he was very happy with it. Remember they charge for mileage so the closer to the Hammers the better. I posted a link below.

Edit: noticed they are not on the drop down menu. Not sure what is going on but goole it as I know it was in Indio and should be on your way if your driving out again.
