weird xj clunk
My wife and me just recently took our jeeps (mine: 95 xj hers: 97 tj) to a local jeep event where they had a owners playground so you could take your own jeep offroading. ever since then when i come to a complete stop (in my xj) there is a clunking noise. it sounds and feels like something is shifting forward or backwards.
i did some forward and reverse acceleration with the brake applied to see if the motor or tranny mounts were broken. but they didn't seem to move. everything else is fine when i'm driving. what should i look for??? Thanks in advance for any help |

check the rear upper shock mounts- they probably have worked loose.
