JU - Did I miss something?

Um.... Go to JU. It comes up Quadratech. What gives? Hack job? I go to 4 Wheel Drive Hardware (JU Parent?) and they have a different forum.

Did I miss something?

Yes, they announced the server would be down all weekend to fix the bandwidth problem. Now if they could just fix the other problems..............................

Dunno, guess it's better than having that screen that says you've reached a dead end. Makes sense, if someone did a search and found your site, you wouldn't want nothing to come up. Just a hunch though.............

Not sure what you guys are seeing when you say its routing to Q-tech.. I checked it twice..and it just dosnt come up at all.

The servers are being moved in house from their current co-location in Chicago IL to a new in house facility at 4wd's HQ. Along with the move, we will be upgrading the hardware and the servers will be running off of dual T-3's

We should be back up and running by the end of the weekend... I hope

if you have a forum bookmarked, it will not come up at all. if you go to www.jeepsunlimited.com, it will route you to quadratec.com

That doesn't make any sense, JU is owned by 4WD Hardware - why would they automatically route you to their competitor's forum?

Dunno, but more than a handful of people have experienced it. When I hover over the link in 'favorites' it says, " Quadratec; Jeep parts, tops and other accesories" I suppose it will do that until I go back to JU again, which is stil having technical difficulty at this time.

I don't think JU got hacked, I think a few domain name servers got bad routing info (maybe via a hack).

at home I get a dead link, but from work this morning it took me to quadratec

Good point, no one ever makes any freindships or learns anything technical on the web anyway.

I don't know about no one
I've learned alot from this site and JU for that matter. Some, I would consider friends

I was referring to some of the Off-Topic folks and Blaine's friend, DrewTJ

Why the bashing of JU? It serves its purpose quite nicely for me - a little venting is good therapy

Smile

Every time JU goes down, activity on JeepBBS goes up. Today our popularity index is as high as it hasn't been since October 2002.

Once the JU is fully back up, got to ban a number of members proportional to the traffic decrease. So the JU loyalists have a stimulus to stay in JU and do not infestate the rest of the Net.

Beneficial effects of JU on human health are highly debatable in the scientific community. But, don't worry Robert; we'll never ban you personally. We'll ban somebody else.
