Clutch adjustment Jeep TJ manual tr.

Hi ,
I have JEEP TJ 98,manual tr. and its a little sleepy,so I'd like to adjust the hight on which the clutch is connecting the engine...On LandR I could adjust that on slave cyl.
My question is how to do it on Jeep TJ,
Regards,
Alex

It's a hydraulic clutch so there is no adjustment possible.

Hi Jerry,
I talked wuth a mechanic specialist and he gave a solution.
"Hidraulic line" could be adjusted in the part between the pedal and master cyl.

Hi Stu,
It's very easy .You have to consider that a
"hydraulic line" is a connection from your pedal to clutch, not just from master c. to slave cyl.
Then You have to adjust mechanical part from pedal to master cyl.So on functional Level you adjusted "hydr. line" and pedal level. With this adjust your clutch can last longer...

Alex

Is anyone else thoroughly confused?

There are no adjustments on the TJ hydraulic clutch. The hydraulic line is simply a plastic hose that connects the master to the slave.

There may be some kind of adjustments on some hydraulic clutch systems - I've never seen one - but not on the TJ.

Dan,

If I understand it correctly, the concept would be to change the linkage and/or master cylinder bore diameter.....not the actual line that connects the master and the slave. I'm thinking the wrong terminology was blended into the discussion by that mechanic.
