Readywelder
Thumbs up to Readywelder for their extra cool service. After running out of the supplied wire I used some Lincoln wire from Home Depot. For whatever reason it was not feeding smoothly and the welding reflected it. My welding is ugly enough as it is I need all the help I can get. After changing the tips and making sure everything else looked good I noticed that the spool was binding a bit for whatever reason.
Anyway, a call to Readywelder not only got 4 free rolls but a free delivery of them as well waiting for me when I got home. Yes, I'm only about a mile from their shop but it's pretty cool of them nonetheless. Oh yeah, as far as the welder goes it's pretty darn trick. Now, I just need to practice more. I limit myself to non life-dependant welds for the time being at least. Jeff

Can you weld on your own rig with it?
It is not who you know, It is who knows you Jeeps do not make jeepers, jeepers make Jeeps. Which is more important, the degree or education? Would you rather be animadversional or curmudgeonly? Can you be animadversional without being a curmudgeon?

Yes, you can weld on your own rig with it. The batteries are both disconnected. I was told that if you use it in conjunction with a Premier or Mobi welder that you can't weld on your own.
Can you weld on your own with a Premier or Mobi? Jeff

You can with the Premiere. I don't know about the Mobi though.
Premiere Welders are the ARB of the mobile welder world. They are not for everyone and if you have one, they are high maintenance. I have seen enough problems with them that I wouldn't install one if it were supplied for free. Too much to go wrong and leave you without something you really need. Not only that, but it can affect your charging system as well. It is not who you know, It is who knows you Jeeps do not make jeepers, jeepers make Jeeps. Which is more important, the degree or education? Would you rather be animadversional or curmudgeonly? Can you be animadversional without being a curmudgeon?

That's interesting Blaine, I haven't had a lick of problems with my Premier.
Now, when I asked Scott at Mobi to have his Engineer call me and explain some of the basic engineering concepts of the Mobi - that was a problem... Jeff 94 YJ, one or three mods http://jmcrae.rockcrawler.com

The one on Garry's rig left us without a charging system the night before competition and lucky for us that there was a PPW rep manning a booth at the event. Jack's has been a nightmare to get working again. As with Garry's, his has also needed the upgraded doohickey regulator thingy that burns out once in awhile. the upgraded doohickey regulator thingy [/quote] I always wanted one of those for my Jeep - my second brothers best friend's cousin's 3rd brother twice removed said that he read where the guys at JU say that you don't have a real Jeep without one 98 TJ Sport D44ARB/D30Detroit/Teralow/Swampers www.geocities.com/yatezess/ |

But Robert - what makes you think you'll have a real Jeep WITH one?

So far the best use I've had for my PPW is to "educate" the teenager down the street that "just one more Gone in 60 Seconds" imitation past my house WILL result in a demonstration of the capabilities of an underhood welder...... using his brake calipers and rotors as an example.

Well, that settles it then. Far be it for "mere me" to argue with the "Awe and Mystery, that reaches from the Inner Mind to...the Sheeps Unlimited Board"....
