Am I in the right place??
Hi all! See a few familliar names here, Hmmm, must be that you guys actually enjoy your vehicle for what it was intended for? I was recently invited here but I won't say who it was unless that's the policy. Thanks!!!! you know who your are.
OK, a little about me. Been wheeling for quite a while but only in a Jeep for about 4 years. It all started when I moved to Phoenix, AZ from Boca Raton, FL, well....4 years ago I moved to a development that was near a dry river bed (Agua Fria) and on the weekends this place used to be a meca for all sorts of off-road vehicles. On a normal Friday or Saturday, you'd find at least 50 motorcycles, 70 Quads, 30 Jeeps and 50 or so various other 4x4's. I had to be a part of this so I searched for a Jeep...knowing that this was obveously the best vehicle for off-roading. It took me about 5 months before I found a pristine 1990 YJ that had never seen dirt. I had to have this one because of the price, condition and potential. Well, since then, I now have a 1950 Wyllis, 1975 J-10, 1999 WJ and the YJ has grown up to have: Small block 400 Full size D60 Rear, D44 front Atlas II 4.3 Custom body work 38.5x14.400 SX's Aww, I won't bore you with the details, lets just say its built! Thanks, Hope to have some fun here! Jeeper Many Jeeps with Stuff |

Glad you could make it. This is where you can be yourself and no worries about anything except a great sense of humor.
A small word of caution. We have access to some of the more privileged info here and occasionally play it a little close to the vest. Not top secret or anything, just special. To answer your question, yes, you are in the right place. If you have like-minded individuals you enjoy, feel free to invite them along also. We are small but efficient and you have to read almost the whole board to stay caught up. No-one stays on topic, nor are they required to. Cool, huh? My wife and I cover all of the ARCA events. I hope to see you out there someday. She does media and I stop her from getting run over by the rigs. (media is allowed on the course) We are attending the Warn Challenge that is coming up in November. Do you have any interest in that? They run two classes and you probably won't fit in the stock modified with your bigger than 35 inch tires. Once again, Welcome. btw- this ain't por, so you don't have to insult anyone to belong. oops- left out the only rule. Harry is not welcome here under any circumstances. It is not who you know, It is who knows you Jeeps do not make jeepers, jeepers make Jeeps.

Howdy Jeeper,
I ain't a grandpappy, and I am not typically into hardcore rock crawling, so how I came to be called Rock Crawler Grandpappy is a mystery to us all. But welcome from Utah. Don P.S. And I think TJRON is more ancient than I am anyway (although it's possible he may be better looking). |

TJRON is the most ancient one on JeepBBS. Perhaps TObject should rightfully transfer my "Grandpappy" moniker to Ron at this point (so I can feel younger again too). |

Welcome Joe and please enjoy the light. Pick up your sense of humor at the door, and be prepared to answer philosophical questions from time to time. Glad to see you made it.
Did you find the Safety Seal kits for sale? Let me know if you want me to leapfrog one down to this part of the world for you. It is not who you know, It is who knows you Jeeps do not make jeepers, jeepers make Jeeps.

Hey Robert,
I'll have you know that those Coors Light cans are now considered imported beer, having been across the Rubicon and all. Besides that, I think one of them is still parked in your fridge! The other one might have to be sacrificed yet tonight....my knee is starting to ache. http://www.stu-offroad.com |

Sounds like the name Jeeper fits you well! Welcome! I like to get over to the Mineral Mountains east of Florence every so often. It would be great to get a bunch of folks over there for some very, very good winter or spring wheeling!
I guess I am the old fart on the board at 56 and I have only 11 grand children and I do do a bit of rock crawling. Anyhow, welcome, and I hope to meet you. Ron

TJRon, I'm not sure I'd classify you as an Old Fart yet, Sut...Yes...I know him (J/K Stu) but you...no, not till I meet you
East of Florence...Ahhh, the playground of the beginners to hardcore...everything you want all tied up into a few hundred acres of BLM land! Speaking of which, has anyone gotten any info on the Jamboree this year??? I was volunteering last year and only got to run two trails...of course the weather wasn't all that cooperative but still... Ahhh, east of Florence. No one understands this story if they haven't been there. One of the dumbest things I've done in a Jeep.
After Martinez Canyon my wife wanted to see the coke ovens. I warned her it was the kind of trail she hates, just damn bumpy. After going and hating it, she didn't want to return the same way. I figured maybe we could get back if we just continued on. We went through a salt cedar forest, crossed a wide (but not too deep) river and then went back across the river on a train trestle. We were now commited and followed the train tracks into an unkown tunnel that seemed to last for ever. When we saw light comming into the tunnel we 'bout crapped, not knowing if it was a train or just the light at the end of the tunnel! Fun ride! You ever go that way? Ro
