Harry B's jeep for sale!!!!! $20K

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I guess the poor guy finally got it working enough to only lose a few grand on it.

Probably worth it for parts, though.

What's the matter with that Jeep? For $20K it sounds like a steal to me. I've got lots more in my heap than that and would have to spend lots more to even get close to it. Seems to me if there was something you didn't like or didn't work right it would be easy enough to set straight.

I hate to admit it here, but Harry is a friend of mine. I know, I know. Believe me I don't buy into his hype. I also would never invite him here, so flame away in total comfort, he'll NEVER hear it from me.

The point is, I know his Jeep pretty well. I helped install the D60's, helped develop the steering and suspension mods, and have been wheeling with him and that TJ on several occasions in the current condition. The point of my post over there is that the guy selling it is lying about several aspects. Things aren't new and unused. He wheeled the hell out of it after it was built. As for being a steal, it is worth the money for sure. At least it was. Since the current owner is lying about the use, he may have removed some of the goodies that were on it.

I do find it funny the reverence Harry's word is held in. The owner has a whole notebook prinout of Harry's old site! Even funnier is that the owner uses that notebook in the ad as if it is a value add to selling the Jeep. Amazing.

OK. Now be nice to me about my relationship with Harry. Remember, he is a far different person than the one most have read about. He's still arrogant, egocentric, opinionated, outspoken...oh hell, maybe he is the same.

Jim, you were invited here in spite of being Harry's friend. You almost forgot that this is the place where we value who you are, and not anything else.

My most favorite thing ever said about me.- You are definitely an acquired taste.

I'd buy that Jeep in a heartbeat if I had the cash. I'd probably get the trailer too. Hey, why don't you guys buy it and put it up on the raffle? I'd buy a ticket or 30

Brad, you buy 30 at 700.00 each and I will donate the profit to the board. That's just for the jeep.

If it was close to me I'd buy it and just change a few things............

Install A/T

Narrow the D-60's

Throw the RE suspension downwind

Install swaybars

............................

Hell, like I said, it's worth it to part out.

It would probably bring $50,000 selling the parts on JU............

FOR SALE:

1/2"x4" Grade 8 bolt REMOVED FROM HARRY B's JEEP (w/certified authentication papers), never installed in single shear, and always torqued properly. Since it was bought from RE, it is 70% stronger than a normal gr. 8 bolt, but most important it was ACTUALLY TOUCHED by Harry B.

You'll have to e-mail me for a price, I accept cash or Paypal only.

Jim--Hell, I don't care who you are friends with (we all make mistakes in life ). Actually I hear he is a decent guy in real life, when he don't have a keyboard to hide behind.

I kind of enjoyed bickering with him occasionally.

Okay, I'll have to admit there's a great deal of equipment on Harry's old TJ that I wish I had on my own and I've already got a helluva lot more than $20k invested. Until then, I'll just keep dreamin about those D60's... someday I tell ya!

Jolleyman,

So when you bought that new tow rig did you think of the price in dollars or dana 60 axles?

Actually I would have bought the tow rig first too, that way I have something to haul the axles home in!

Actually, when I bought my "new-to-me" tow rig, I was strictly thinking in terms of what I already have invested in Jeep mods (lift, tires, lockers) which already exceeded the total sticker price of the truck. Custom built new D60's alone would probably be more expensive than my tow vehicle so I guess that's just another great perspective.

My Priorities;

Jeep - $22,000 plus over $8K in mods so far
Truck (aka "tow rig") - $7K total (already modded)

Now I just need to get a trailer!

Of course don't have any current pics since Harry took his website down but here's a few of it when he rolled it on the side at Tellico.
