Perhaps you missed the name of this BBS. If you're "quitting 4x4ing", "getting pretty sick of the people", and running away to 'the woods on your mountain bike', you'll probably want not hang here much. At least, one can hope.

Hi Tracy,

I've been out of town with a dead laptop for a few days and had to do some catching up reading the forums this evening.

I just couldn't resist this one, I had to quote it!

Have you ever given any thought to the Marine Corps.? I can make a few calls if you'd like me to!

Jeff and Tracy

Are you of the 'Shaved' or 'Hairy' school? Neither of you guys discussed that one!

Good lucky to you Tracy.

Everyone needs to do what they feel is right for them. We are all bog boys and big girls. Someday when I leave I'll just drop off the face of the earth, or is that, drop into the face of the earth.

Hmmm.... I don't know, I'm just too intense to figure this stuff out. It's one of those two things.

God Bless.

Frank

Frank, shouldn't you then be taking them seriously?

Good Point Blaine!

I guess I take "the don't take to seriously" attitude to extremes at time!

Guess that's why they retired me! I knew there had to be a reason! An epiphany here!

Hair for me. Unless you are a pro then shaving is more of a pain then it's worth.

Thanks for asking Frank!

Jeff

I've been hairy since I got off the road bike. I shaved from the time a was 14-17 try to explain that one when your in HS. The only reason I did it on the road bike is for wind resistance and since the mountain bike I'm really not into the arrow thing. I wear baggy also. But prefer the Hardtail over the suspention hard tail is faster everywhere IMO except down hill and let's face it your hills out there are bigger then the one's we have here in the midwest. But I use a suspention seatpost in my hardtail to get be a little back reliefe.

Just havin a whinge

Ok 02_WHITE_TJ_X,
I reckon you're just feeling a bit unloved and want to have a whinge, loosen up mate, there is good and bad everywhere. The good news is you can still have fun. There is a catch though, you have to WANT to.

Quote:
I have enjoyed somethings about this hobby but I'm getting pretty sick of the people.
You know what I'm getting pretty sick of:
MTB: Picking up sticky GU packets, Powerbar wrappers etc off single track and fire road after a race has been run; seeing dozens of empty drink bottles and other garbage lying on and around DH courses; kids chopping down trees and digging up the ground to build dodgy stunts and apparatus. Riders straight lining and cutting corners and consequently forging new trails beside existing track.etc etc
JEEP: Then when I go wheeling to my favourite camping place I always end up disappointed with rubbish lying around there also, so a lot of the time I pick that up as well and take it back home with me. Then there?s the idiots who tear up tracks, the hoons that do circle work and rip up the nice grassy camping areas, noisy two-stroke trailbikes etc etc

I too get sick of certain people.
But will I stop riding my bike or driving my Jeep or going camping because of it?
No bloody way -- I can still have fun. I?m not going to throw away my hobbies because of a few undesirables. The world is not a perfect place, I accept that and make the best of it.

Almost all the deals I have made recently have fallen through.
It?s a shame, but so what, this stuff happens to everyone. Try again, do it differently if you can. You just went through a bit of a rough patch -- that?s life.

Quote:
My puppy pictures on this site have been blocked
Sorry this is going to be harsh, but this is just to FN funny, it made me laugh, couldn?t help it, I'm still smirking as I write, thanks for cheering me up and putting a smile on my face. Seriously mate, you sound like a little kid...

Quote:
And the my Jeep is bigger then yours attuide has really been shining lately
Yeah so what?s new? Just because there is one-upmanship going on it doesn?t mean you have to be part of it. Embrace your Jeep and be happy with its size/build, use it in the best way you can and don?t be to influenced by others who may niggle you because they have more mods than you.
It?s only a Jeep, it?s not a life or death situation.

The funny thing is you knew all this anyway...
Hope you?re feeling better tomorrow.

Talking Bu Buy...............

Tracy, any one who has to change their screen name and then deny who they are, any one who has a a Jeep with a D35 and stock lowers who talks smack because their suspension is 1" longer is a poser and a punk. It doesn't suprize me you're hard core mountain biker; the ones at my work nobody even talks to because they're such ass hats.

Funny, that was my experience when I was hc into MTB as well. The majority of the hc MTBers I ran into regularly were a bunch of knuckleheads and materialistic dinks.

I've met some real cool folks out on the trail before, nicer than most 'roadies'.

The ones where mountain biking is so much of their identity they just have to let you know about it have ALL been asshats.

Ahh, the bunch are ass hats, as you say.

Just assume everyone's an asshole, then the cool people will suprise you, and you'll be much happier in life.

I tend to play it the other way; Some people are on the fence and can go either way, so if I approach them as if they're not a-holes, I won't push some the wrong way.

I don't treat them like assholes, I just expect less of them.
