It would help if we knew what you wanted to do with it. Wheel it hard, daily driver, fast driving on fire roads, moderate wheeling?

Change your oil

The 4.0 liter in my '91 YJ has 209,000 miles on it and is still going strong. I say change your oil frequently, and you might consider staying away from Fram oil filters and K&N style air filters.

Keep your fluids topped up, including your diffs, t-case, and transmission. Keep your u-joints greased.

Make sure you wheel it now and then, that keeps 'em happy!

Let me just say this then:

There are a lot of Jeep forums out there, and A LOT of mixed opinions about things like K & N fliters. 99% of the people on forums such as JeepsUnlimited.com don't have the slightest clue what they're talking about, and were within a few years ago, newbies just as you are now. They only learn from what others post on JU, and if it's bad information, it tends to be passed on down the ranks as truth.

That being said, this forum actually has TECH and people that know what they're talking about. Not all of us, but many of them know real info, not bad info passed on. It's not normally the basic questions of "what tires will fit" and "what type of oil" blah blah blah, which is why you might not get a massive response for such questions.

Be careful what you read on the web and use some judgement before using any of that information. No ones going to tell you what exactly to do and be right.
