Question on whether to reverse my tires or not...

First, my thanks to Blaine for offering me first-crack at a great deal on what he thought was going to be a good set of used Alcoa forged aluminum wheels. He finally received them Saturday but they had been misrepresented to him so he advised me to not waste the time to come up to see them. So to save some money, I went ahead and ordered five AR 23 cast aluminum wheels that were on sale. Hopefully, I can send them off to get them beadlocked later this year.

Here's the question... Three of my MT/R tire's outside treadblocks were ground off pretty dramatically thanks to that Jeep-swallowing hole in the opening to Doran Canyon. So when I mount them on the new wheels, should I reverse those three tires so the ground-off tread blocks are on the inside?

I've heard arguments both ways on which would give the best traction.

A few opinions from within this august group would be appreciated.

turn them to the inside only if you don't have the OWL's. The layer of white rubber has been know to tear a bit easier and weaken the sidewall.

If they are blackwall both sides, then it don't matter.

Yes they have OWL on the inside and I didn't know about that problem. So there's my answer, I won't reverse them. Thanks again Blaine!
