Here's a great example of thinking for yourself...

I'm pretty impressed with this guy's mod work. Looks like a hell of a lot of work with great results.

Is this the Phil from Canada?

He was on the TJ list for a long time.

I remember him as the Tormenter of Donna!

Yeah... I think its the same guy. I was on that list a LONG time ago. I think I was there in 1998 right when it was getting started. I remember that, b/c I had JUST moved to San Francisco.

Yeah, Phil does some neat things and he's not afraid to let you know it! I don't necessarily agree with his bigger, heavier, stronger buildup, but maybe I would if I broke stuff as often as he does. I'd be willing to guess that his Jeep is pushing 5000# empty.

When all else fails, go 1 ton. How can you go wrong? It may be heavy, but its basically indestructible.

I'd do the same if I had the coin.

The funny thing is that when those east coast guys on the TJ list had a run to Tellico, he was the one with the breakage and the lighter, built 4 cyls. with short arm 4" lifts were doing better on the trails. At least that's the way the story goes. As for the cost of his mods, I think he said he put the front together for about $1500 and got the rear for about $2000. The tcase is a D300 for about $500. It looks like it'd be fun for sure ... but heavy. Go for it!

Jeff,

Phil can be a riot sometimes. He would torment people on that list to no end. Pretty funny actually. He's basically building a led sled to smash through stuff, to each thier own.

William.
