Talking Trying to be smart.....

Had a funny thing happen lately while trying to be smart. Funny thing is, I'll bet cookies to coconuts somebody else has tried this before. Then later on found out just how STUPID this short-cut really is.

Anyway....I decided that it would be smarter to run the dishwasher with some regular liquid dish soap, than to get off my duff and go buy some liquid dishwasher detergent.

OMG!

Before I realized the start of all this mess, the hotels dishwasher was gushing soap suds like nobody's business. That sucker was spouting off like it was the sister of Mt St Helens!

I opened her up to take a closer look and it was like a tornado of dish soap was released.

Leason learned: Use less liquid dish soap.

Yup, you're a dumbass!!

Along those lines, a bud of mine at work came in all excited friday and showed us the front page of the newspaper carrying a story about a famous soccer coach being shot in Paris and the worlds largest diamond being stolen...

...until i pointed out he was reading the promo for the new Pink Panther movie.

Both are damn funny.

My brother decided one day to do the dishes. My dad was all proud that a 6 year old wanted to clean them up in the dishwasher so he set up everything for him, including the dishsoap. Well while my dad started the laundry (yea, he took his eyes off him ) my bro decied instead of using the powder stuff, he'd take a bar of Ivory soap and use that instead. Not sure why dad stored the Ivory soap under the kitchen sink, we probably used that instead of liquid handsoap, but he unwrapped it and threa it in there.

About 10 minutes later we had a sea of white bubbles all over the floor and migrating towards the family room. Dad's freaking out, bro is crying cause he's scared Dad's going to whoop him and I'm cracking up after I heard all the commotion and came out to see what was going on.

So Joe, you're not alone... though not sure if being compared to a 6 year old is such a good thing too.

If you find yourself in a position to need to kill the bubbles, use fabric softener.

You need to watch more "i Love Lucy".

Pretty much any life lesson that needs to be learned as far as kitchen disasters is concerned, can be learned by watching that show.

... like not adding too much yeast to the bread dough? I still enjoy that show every time I get a chance to watch it.

No worries Joe. Been there done that myself when I was about 22. Thought I would do a good thing, and run the washer since it was full of dirty dishes. We were out of dish detergent so I just filled the resevoir with the liquid stuff. I figured "tough on grease" was a good thing Guess I realized why the dishwasher hadn't been ran.

Really bad part was I had went out back after that to mow the yard. Didn't come back in for a couple hours to waist deep suds on our at the time carpeted kitchen floor. I was sucking up soap with the steam cleaner for 2 more hours after that.
