How many miles per year...

I was thinking recently about the amount of miles that are put on the average ?car?, and how many are being put on our Jeeps, per year. I know a lot of the group drive to the trail, and others tow their Jeep to the trail. I?m wondering how many miles per year people are putting on them.

I bought my TJ around April 1998, and it has 33,500 miles on the odometer. I bought my XJ around September 2000 and it has 39,000 miles on the odometer.

What about you?

My '98 TJ has an inservice date of September, 1997. It has 54K miles on it now. So....I am doing just a bit over 10K per year. It is not my daily driver, although I put 80 miles on it today running around Phoenix doing a handful of errands. Those miles sure do add up!

My last Jeep was a '99, daily driver, and I was putting about 9,000 miles a year on it.

My '03 I have put on 10,000 mi. in < 6 months, w/ the same daily commute as the '99.

So I think I am doing good as far as the Jeep trips go on this one...

Or some may say that 4-banger could not keep up with my active lifestyle.

Or maybe I am going to the mall too much...

I don't remember how many miles mine had on it when I bought it and I'm not sure if the tow miles go onto the odometer. I guess I should check it some time but then I'd probably forget.
What was the question?

Bought the jeep in 1994, put 100k on it by June, 2001. Got a DD, and its gotten 24k since then, including a trip to Moab from ATlanta (4k)

I put 30,000 miles on my 99 Ltd G.C. in 1 year! So I sold that. It takes forever to get anywhere in NH. Especially when you live in a suburb and work in the small city.

It was always, "Jay has the nicest vehicle, lets take his Jeep."

Yeah, well have fun trying to get into my YJ now! Plus I'm only in the states a few weeks out of the year.

Anyone want to buy a new TJ? You can kick the **** out of a rubicon with it.

My '99 TJ, purchased 11/98 has 93k miles. I was averaging 22k miles per year until I decided to mellow out on it a bit this past year and drive the other cars. The Jeep is just a bit more fun to drive though.

Garry,
Reminds me of selling motorcycles after a year or two of desert racing.

purchased my TJ in may of 97. 83060 miles to date. That makes it about 13122 miles a year. Funny thing is I'm on my 4th set of tires. Fifth coming soon to a Jeep near me.

Sheetmetal is straight?

Paint looks good?

Any discoloration on the flares?

No rust, right?

Allen

12k miles a year or less. Mine's a 93 YJ with 79k miles on it now. I'm fortunate enough to work from home, which helps keep them miles down.

Bought my TJ in 12/98 with 274 miles on it - now has just over 41k. It was my daily driver until March of last year, but at the time I was only five miles from work....now I'm just over 21. When I bought my truck last September it had 47k miles on it, now its getting close to 66k.

Ron - Unless you leave the ignition in the "on" position when you're towing the Jeep the miles won't register. Fortunately, it's not like the old cable-driven odometers, otherwise I'd have a little more miles showing on mine.

I bought my '00 around august of '00 and it now has almost 78k. So around 25k per year for mine. kinda goes in spurts for me, I'll go for days only driving about 20 miles a day then I'll do about 300 miles a day for a week or so.
