opinions on this bumper

of course, there's isn't that much of a bumper, just a stinger with steering box skid and winch mount. it's made by Shaffer's Offroad.

I am trying to decide between this and Currie hoop bumper. While I like Currie one, this one will cost me $200 less, cause by the time I add steering box skid and fairlead mount to Currie bumper it will cost over $500 shipped. I can pick up this one fom Shaffer's shop for under $300.

My concern is that AntiRock ends seem to be pretty exposed.

I also like the Safari Gard one.

Decisions, decisions, decisions...

I like how they integrated the steerbox skid as long as that part is strong enough.

One advantage to a separate steering box skid is you can replace it if you hammer it.

I would also be concerned about the AR ends - I scared up my Currie bumper pretty bad on the ends where the AR hides under. How much is the angle on the fairlead? Will that cause any problems?

you can get the hoop kit from Julio at trail sport for $90 and do it your self. Make it so skids can be replaced.

My opinion, there is no bumper. There is a winch plate with a stinger welded onto it....and it protects your steering box....where did the bumper go?

a correctly sized cork, 18" of #3 lightweight chain, 1" long 10-24 nut and bolt, and a small eye screw for wood and that'll getcha a DIY cowbell hanging kit.

I'll let you figure out what to do with the cork.

uh-huh-huh-huh, stingers are cool.

Uh, yeah, cool. hee-hee-hee, cool.

That's one expensive winch plate / steering box guard.
