Jeep dogs

Time for a new Jeep dog thread.

I finally remembered to take a pic of the pups, yesterday, on the trail. They were in 7th heaven. Rock dogs down to the bone!

Stu,

Great looking Wranglershire Terriers! I meant too ask you about your JF avatar last week. My bully, Captain Ahab went to the big chase in the sky several years ago after over thirteen years of loyalty and devotion.

The avatar pooch is Syra (the brownish one). Her mom was an AKC registered pitbull. Her dad was an AKC registered doberman. She and her 6 brothers and sisters were a weekend accident. She is my favorite and has more engergy than should be legally allowed.

The black and white bovine edition is Angel. She is pitbull of unknown origin. Her nickname is Bulldozer, as very little stops her.

They love Jeepin'.....and if you get stuck, they'll grab the tow strap and pull you off of the rock.

When I lived in Pine, Co and Ahab was in all the glory of his youth he grabbed on to the rear end of a VW and brought it to a stop on a dirt road. That's the way I remember it anyway! On another occaision I managed to plant my foot in his rear end while he was after a van on the same road. He didn't know what hit him and gave up tackling four wheeled prey after that. He was a mix conceived when my sister's purebread opened the back gate to host a late night throw down. Saddest day of my life when he took his last breath in my arms. I would go bully mix again and will when I live in the mountains again.

Here is my boxer/lab, or as I affectionately call, brindle boxer retriever:

She has recently learned to ride on the hard tonneau cover. She really likes the view from there.

The wife of a close friend of mine recently got a little pup....a hybrid of some type that now weighs in at about 6 pounds. He was telling me about a bumper sticker he was thinking of getting her....."Real dogs don't bounce when the bark." I think common sense took hold and he passed on the bumper sticker. None the less, Sammy is a little cutie....he just bounces.

Tiger on left, Bailey on Right. They love the Jeep but the minivan with no middle seat is their favorite.

Well, the two rock dogs met there match by mid-week during our recent Moab trip.

You have to really appreciate this pic.....the black and white is very driven by food.....her stomach rules most of her waking moments. With that background info, this pic was taken on Wednesday 8:00 AM. On a normal day, they would have eaten breakfast kibble about 2 hrs earlier in the day. Neither of them would get off their doggie bed to eat chow.

On the trail they were awesome. They picked no fights with the other half dozen dogs that were sharing the trails and our motel.

Here's Toby during a recent trip to the San Juans. He seems to be a Lab mixed with a little Chow.
