"Blem" aluminum rims?

Seems to me I saw a post (maybe on Sheeps Unlimited) about a place here in SoCal that had aluminum "seconds"

Getting ready to finish my front Dana 44, which means rim time, and I'd really like to stay with aluminum.

Anyone have any input?

The place I got my wheels, in Long Beach, carried blems. I can't remember the name of the place (I think it was performance plus), it was on Cherry or Long Beach Blvd (north/east of the 405). They gave me a great deal on my MTs, and had quite a few open box/blems too.

We are in the process of forming a “Challenger Club”. Only owners of Mickey Thompson Challenger wheels can enter.

Jeff,

I believe it was Jerry Bransford who mentioned a place in Long Beach selling aluminum blems for something like $50/wheel. Drop him a line and see if he'll spill it. I remember him saying that he won't share until he has his. Hmmmm.

Don't know much about MT "Challengers", but from past experience I know their tires are pretty soft.

Back in my "car" days I went through a set of their J60-15's in 22 days......

Did you smoke them?

Are these tires street legal? Do they come in 35" size?

You betcha I smoked 'em - every chance I got. Went to the swap meet one Sunday and bought a set of AR "Daisy" rims, and was determined to put tires on them THAT DAY.

Only tire store open was MT, and they were OUT of L60-15's

Had to settle for J60's, and like I said - long life was not in the equation.
