Looking for a picture

I am looking for a good high quality high-resolution picture to put on the main page. I am thinking about a frontal or front-angle look of one of the more advanced jeeps (maybe mrblaine?s or Garry?s). Something with a tire in the air... Preferably shoot with a wide lens. Something I could try to photoshop into a ?driving out through the rocks out of the screen? effect. You get the idea. :D

If you have such a picture you want to donate for our main page, please let me know.

Boy Seth, just when you think you know something, you really don't. Garry and I have more than a smidgeon of affiliation to H8 than you would know.

Fun story that one.

Thanks! I put this picture on the entry page for the Rock Stacker Chat. Do you have a better quality version of the picture? Maybe a photograph, or better yet a negative/transparency?

Lately, it became popular to restrict access to pictures in the event the request to download came from another website (jeepbbs.net for example). Webmasters do such things because they don't want other websites "steel" the traffic by linking the pictures directly; they want you to come to their pages and see the ad banners.

I have a Hi res shot of that pic. I can email it to you but its at home.

I think the hi-res is also on webshots, but not at that link.

Try here:

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...3327NHESCJaeaP

then follow the link to "view fullsize" and that should be a better pic

Looks to me like webshots applies additional compression to the pictures. Could you e-mail me the hi-res version you have, when you have a chance?

Thank you!

This is a little something slapped together. Using one of the resident members photo.
:)

Had to create a quick web site to display it though.

That is too cool!

If I didn't know better I would swear that there is a lake there. I bet it looks like that right after a flashflood!

Thank you! :D

Kat,

thats a cool pool pic.

can I make a suggestion? try to chop out that tower on the horizon and remake the fake-a-lake.

It shows not only in the background but in the shimmering water.

- Dan

Sergey,

I mailed the pic to both emails.

Dan, she would really hate not having her CB work because you chopped off her antenna. That is 3 peices of ribbon, red, white, and blue, that the wind is blowing sideways. :)

Well Dan, you are right. It doesn't look like part of the jeep. The giveaway for me is that I know that there are no visible signs of any communication towers that are viewable from any of those trails.

Note to self. Go to bed earlier and get eyes checked :)

lexbernier - I didn't even notice you made the pic. I really like the shot, and the color contrasts between the TJ, the rocks and the sky. I was just nit-picking. Sorry its one of my bad habits:rolleyes:

If some blue sky cold make the antenna go away, I think the pic would look really sharp.

Cheers,

- Dan

There added a touch more blue to the sky and moved the antenna to the other side of vehicle so as to be less conspicuous.:D

Bruce, the picture you posted of the yellow TJ flying through the air is from the 2000 Safari Triathalon. The didn't break anything after that jump and they came in 6th. Their website is www.team19usa.com It is a cool shot but I don't think we should use that pic as they are aren't on this board and Tennessee Off-Road has it all over their BBS.
