Tube coping/notching
I just came across a simple software program that has dramatically improved my tube coping abilities.
Winmiter.zip (google it and you will find several sources for a free download) You enter in the tube sizes that you are working with, the angle of the joint, and a centerline offset if desired and it creates a printable pattern that you cut out (paper) and tape around your tube to be coped. After tracing the cope line on the tube I used my chop saw to cut the two angles and very quickly cleaned up with an angle grinder. This produced a MUCH more precise cope than when I've used the more traditional hole saw tube notcher, especially when coping angles other than 90* (that and hole saw notchers are lousy for centerline offset). I realize this is nothing new, but thought I'd pass along how well it worked for me
