At $545, the dealer's name is withheld to protect the innocent (who was equally shocked himself)... (yeah it was Bob )

What is different or better than the other brands of synthetic rope, or is it just the Warn name?

For that price, that sucker better not break or fray....ever.

Is it red?

If so it's likely worth the asking price.

Holy Cow! I was hoping them getting in the market would provide some competition to drive others' prices down... not likely at that price point!

WARN? SYNTHETIC WINCH ROPE
WARN engineers faced a challenge when they set out to develop a synthetic rope for winching. The rope had to be light weight, durable and easy to handle-but it also needed to maintain high tensile strength over a wide range of temperatures.

What they came up with is a unique design that provides the optimal balance of performance characteristics needed by rock crawlers and owners of advanced trail rigs. The 100' WARN Synthetic Rope combines the best attributes of two types of high-performance fibers, woven into one rope. The first 30 feet of rope wound nearest the drum is made of a liquid crystal polymer fiber that provides excellent strength and bending properties over a wide range of temperatures. The remaining 70 feet of rope, from the hook back, is woven from another unique polyethylene fiber that exhibits superior handling and abrasion resistance.

A rugged hook-with 360-degree swivel and thimble-comes standard, along with a Hawse fairlead and "Ballistic Nylon" sliding sleeve that provides extra protection against abrasion and wear. Designed for use on winches with rated capabilities of 9500 lbs. or less.

Looks like X Line to me and frankly, I stick with the good old MasterPul. This new stuff might as well be steel.

FYI - Warn was sold recently for 325 million to Dover Industries. Warns CEO said it was a good deal for everyone - we'll see.

yeah I have the Xline, and I can't imagine that the warn is worth twice the price of the Xline.... I haven't gotten to use it much yet, but it feels at least twice as durable as the older style masterpull line... How's anyone's Xline holding up? the last synthetic rope discussion I've seen around here was in the infancy of the new Xline. $545 does that include a winch too?
