Beefing up rear bumper mounting area?
Okay so I am not a welder but I opted to add these gusset supports to my new bumper. The factory 1/8" channel did not seem strong enough to me. I realize I must grind off the weld if I want to remove the body bolt but that is no big deal... I am good at grinding

I have a similar bracket but without the additional flat extending along the frame. The biggest difference is that I also had a piece of angle welded all the way across the crossmember. My rear bumper is not going anywhere
