Need some prayers....

My Dad had a heart attack last night. It does not look good due to some other complications. I am not very religious, but find myself praying that he will make it. I hardly know the man, and he lives out of state. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning Chris,

I hope this new day finds your Dad doing far better and I am certain your prayers and the prayers of your friends are being listen to.

In the deepest part of my being I don't believe God cares if we are "Religious" or not, he listens to all our prayers, for he knows when we pray we are in most need.

Please know I mean no disrespect to you in offering some advice. Get to know your Dad better now Chris. Take the time now! I am certain both he and you will find it well spent.

God Bless my friend,

I wish your Father all the best and send my prayers.

Frank

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone. I spoke to his wife last night, and the hospital said he was sitting up and talking, so that was a good sign. If he can pull through to midweek they will move him out of ICU. Looks like he may have liver cancer also. Thanks for the thoughts.

Chris, I'm pulling and praying for your dad, I know we are all hopeful it's not liver cancer on top of the heart attack. I wish your dad, you, and your family the best on all of this... get prepared, you never know how these types of things can go. If it goes the wrong way, get a hospice organization involved (I am with a hospice)... they will help your dad and the family in so many ways that you can't even imagine. Let's just hope and pray that hospice care isn't necessary though.

Jerry

Unhappy

That sucks Chris. Hopefully it's not as bad as they think and he'll pull through okay. I'm a subscriber to the "denial camp" when it comes to these things so I can't offer much advice other than hang in there and enjoy the time you still have.

Here's hoping for the best, Chris. Keep us posted regarding his condition.

I agree with Frank, make the time you have with him count.

And if he does have cancer, don't give up immediately. My dad was diagnosed with Prostate cancer some time back, but he managed to pull through and is still cancer free today. So don't give up, and take it one day at a time.

Well, I talked to my step sister today and my dad was moved out of ICU yesterday. They first said he had conjestive {?} heart failure cause he lungs were filling with fluid, but since then, they have drained and they said no heart failure. They are still waiting on some test results for his kidneys.
Thanks for the prayers people. They worked.

Chris,

You said above you were never that close. With a second chance, elminate that.

I never got the second chance, and I always have the "What if" in my head.

May bee nothing comes of it, but, at least you'd know. You may find a Dad in the mix.
