Talking Flatty, LED and corners finished...pics

Well....pretty much finished. My daily driver is making some wierd noises, so I had to put the TJ back together and drive it so I could look at what's wrong with the dd car. My OYR's are on, as well as all of the LEDs and the flatty job is done. The other stuff that I had planned to do (kilby skid, rockers, license plate light and relocation bracket and 4.10 gears) will have to wait awhile. Sorry for the driveway pics, but what do you think? You can see all of the new pics at http://www.dotphoto.com/go.asp?l=selph&AID=421011

See ya on the trail......Dave

Hey Selph,
Does that 8274 cause you any problems with running warm due to its mass in front of your radiator?

I have always had an affinity for that winch and only stayed away from it as my Jeep has always run warmish. Personally, I think that is abot the best winch on the market if you are going to run synthetic rope.

Nice job on the lights.

Thanks! No problems at all with the winch or over-heating. I wouldn't trade the winch for any other model. It's super fast and has 150' of cable. I'll probably switch to rope when I wear the cable out. The only thing that I don't like about it is the weight, but I'll live with that for all of the other benefits. My TJ has always run at 210* from before I even started building it. The winch didn't have any effect on it at all, even with the A/C condensor in front of the radiator. HTH Dave

Looks awesome, I dig the flatty look. The LEDs look cool too, nice job.

Scott, I bought a 5' x 6' net from www.americanarmynavy.com for $25. I cut it to fit the rear bar and 2 pieces to fit the side windows. I used 1' strips of adhesive-backed velcro stuck back-to-back to attach it to the roll cage. Works really well to protect my kids! Dave

I love your flatty fenders and the shorty bumper up front, that really looks great like that Selph... very inspiring, makes me want to do something similar to mine too. My CJ-owning neighbor would probably have a field-day commenting on my efforts to make my TJ look more like his CJ though heheh! Nice work!

Hey Steve! Yep, still kickin' over here. I'm building another ZJ for trail use, so have been taking it easy on the old one since I do need to sell it at some point in time. How's the buildup coming on the YJ? I saw pics in another post of your steering setup...looks good. Who did the work on it?
