Expeditions Rigs

Alright, this was long overdue. Since this is an expedition style forum, I thought I’d start gathering my notes and post a few links and remarks.

Let start with some rigs.

One of my favorite is this FJ Cruiser own by Todd (aka Air2air) of Aliso Viejo. This is one cool and fast FJC, it has all the ingredients without being over the top. Well, maybe the supercharger is a bit much.

What I really like about this one is some of the gismos that are on it. The little white dome on the roof is a marine (Furuno) GPRS relay antenna that cuts in when the normal cellular internet connection is lost out in the sticks. He also designed a computer mount that is way cool.

The dash computer build is at http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...step-step.html and the full FJC build can be seen here http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...rged-pics.html

An unfortunate mishap was the perfect excuse to go even wilder. Personally, I liked the original build much better, simple and stealth, but if you are a Baja fan you'll appreciate the new look.

Todd took it to Demello Offroad and using parts of the Baja Class Winner Donahoe FJC, he and Jason Demello built a desert runner. The full build is at http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...l-frontal.html

Again, some cool features were added to the FJC (or what's left of it), like the motorized Lucrum Light System designed by Chris Marsolais http://www.lucrumind.com/ sitting on top of the roof. After being paralyzed in a motorcycle accident a couple of years ago, Chris purchased an FJC and starting making aftermarket components for it as well as designing some very clever items to help him enjoy taking it out on the trails.
More rigs and gismos to come
