One more and one less BUS driver

Well Shalome can no longer be called a BUS driver.

He no longer has a ZJ to have that problem, but I do.

Thanks Shalome
My wife loves it and now the waggy is mine

Scott

PS
Shalome when is that TJ going to be trail ready??????/

Yes Shalom, the rockgods out at JV are in need of a sacrifice. It'll be awesome to have another sheeple out there.

p.s. Did you get that Diesel Liberty for a daily driver?

Glad it worked out Scott and that your wife likes to drive the ZJ.

I would have liked the libby deisel except for two things.

1) you can't buy it in CA and I couldn't find out if it was even being sold out of state yet.

2) I test drove a regular libby and I have to say I was pretty underwhelmed with how it road (for being IFS) and it really wasn't much improved over my dad's XJ.

So I figured I'd go out and get something with better gas miliage and more car-like and I ended up running across a Subaru Forrester.

Decent gas miliage, AWD, and the same utility (cargo wise) that my JGC had.

I have to say it's nice driving a car around for the daily commute. I forgot what that was like. It's a lot easier.

So yeah, no more Bus for me. The TJ needs to get out on the road yesterday. Hopefully I'm going to be able to squeeze as much time towards that in the next month or so as I can.

I had a Subaru 4x4 wagon in high school and I loved it. It was a great vehicle for skiing, hauling your buddies and raising hell in. The only downside is that parts cost a fortune and it wasn't built to "4X" it like we did.

Anyway, post up when you guys will be working on the TJ and I'll drop down and lend a hand whenever I can.

I researched the parts issue before making my decision. Small volume japanese car parts are about as price as european car parts.

Crazy. The plus side to that is that Subarus are generally fairly reliable from what I"ve managed to research.

As for the 4wd. Yeah, it's going to suck a bit losing a real t-case, but I'll still be able to make it through the snow up in Big Bear, and that's all I've really been using my ZJ for the last 2 years, outside of a DD.

So I figured it was a good trade off for the MPG increase.

That's an awesome vehicle. You won't regret getting it. The only thing better is a big diesel pickup truck.

Well to be fair, your bus is now making up in size and fancy doo dads what the group used to have in numbers.

So I think it's really evening out.

Well let me tell you the ZJ is great and the carb on the FSJ sucks. The full time 4WD kicks but, it is nice to have two vehicles that are safe to drive when the weather is bad.

We are at a balmy 22 degrees this morning which beats the 18 it was yesterday.

Scott

PS
any one have blank plates to fill in where ARB switches used to be????

You can get blank switches from the company that makes them for ARB. They'll fit in the holes, only you'll have to figure out what you are going to hook up to them.

I say go for more lights. Can't ever have enough.

I got the switch that powers the hellas (on the dash) from Papromike who knows (used to know) which company makes the switches.

You might want to PM Papromike. He might be able to point you in the right direction. I certainly don't remember anymore.

Scott Hill,

When I feel down or miserable, to get better I think of two people. One of those people is you.

Yea, add more lights so you can be just like the KJ crew. I hear from them that the more lights you have, the more hardcore you are

You've seen Scott's other rigs, what's wrong with 12 cents worth of silver duct tape? Almost the same color, lifetime supply on one roll, gives his ankle biters something to pick at while mom's driving, and is in perfect harmony with the way Scott does everything else.

In a pinch, it can be removed to silence the nearest snivelling piehole.

Yeah, true... doing it "aesthetically" pleasing would be out of Scott's Character..

I did the install on the Fog Light switches in the ZJ and they look really good and almost factory looking, I hope Scott doesnt get offended.
