If you like trees, mountains and lakes, put this on your list of places to visit

So my wife and I decided to try something different for vacation this time around.

We picked the Canadian rockies and decided to do a little road trip between Calgary, Banff and Jasper.

It was incredibly well worth it. The national parks in that area are incredibly beautiful.

I highly recommend the trip to anyone who likes being out of doors.

Here are some photos I picked out quickly from the bunch to give everyone an idea of the area.

So, this is the area around Banff.

You'll often be driving around and see stuff like this:

Or this:

This is a shot off a boat tour on Lake Malinge, and it was the best shot I could find to show the glacial blue water that all the lakes and the rivers in the area have.

Canada sure makes some weird dogs though.

Cows for that matter too.

Anyway, I had a great time. The sights were really spectacular and there was just so much to see around every bend. I think I will be going back at some point in time to make some of the hikes I missed out on this time around.

Wow, this is beautiful. Between these and the pictures just posted by Don, my camera finger is itching ageing. I think I should start planning another trip.

BTW, if anyone has the hankering to walk on a glacier, you can if you take this trip.

The columbia ice field and the attabasca glacier is about halfway between Jasper and Banff.

You get to drive out onto the glacier in this crazy 6x6 bus thing with huge tractor tires. I'll post a picture tonight.

So here's a view from the road leading onto the glacier with some of the 6x6 busses:

Here's a shot for a matter of perspective.

The two little dots, are the 6x6 buses traveling on the road across the ice glacier you can see in the first shot.
