Free at last, free at last [well almost]

Wife got her '08 JK Rubicon Unlimited on order last Friday. Auto and power stuff, but mostly in Detnator Yellow. She really wanted a Sahara, but it wasn't avail in Det Yellow

Its been a long year of only being a 1 car family...

SOON I will get my Jeep back

See you on the trails

Don't all jeeps pretty much get 12-14?

That's been my experience at least.

JKs are becoming popular, I guess. There is a full page spread ad in the next week?s New Yorker. Don?t let Robert see it, it?s a shiny piano-black Rubicon.

I actually rode in a JK Sahara today Sergey....I talked a guy in my office out of a Ridgeline for the 4 door instead. Nice Jeep but you know what....I still like mine. While the JK handles and drives nice along with being quiet....I know where mine has been, what it can do and what it will take so I doubt I would ever sell it. They would need to put a Bluetec diesel in a JK before I would think about getting rid of my TJ.

...... although none of that is to say that I might not have the Honda for long if I ever ended up on a Jeep lot looking at Rubicons'

The subaru would be gone in about 3 seconds if Jeep released a 4 door with a diesel that got around 20 or so MPG in the city.

I am kinda with you guys on the "if" for the BlueTech. And, like Robert, I know where my rig, "Cowboy" has been and what it can do, I also know how much money and time I spent to get here. So I will keep my TJ.

I do think my wife's Rubicon could be cannon fodder at sometime, but who knows. The fact that its a Rubicon is a bonus I suppose since she wanted a Detonator Yellow one and could not get it in the Sahara, so Rubicon it was.

She does have plans on a new front bumper to go along with her (my old) Warn 9.5 ti winch. But other than that not sure it will see any upgrades. unless its some rocker guards.

She is no stranger to Jeeps as she has had quite a few over her years. She grew up with Range Rovers and her mom (age 78) recently traded in her G Wagen for a different model that would seat more people. I tried to talk her mom into the JK Unlimited, but she has never had a US made car.
