Exclamation How to control weld splatter?

Now I'm sure my machine is out of adjustment, but I've fooled with the voltage and wire speed and it doesnt seem to change much.

Specs:
Lincoln 255 Mig
.035 ArcPlus wire
Airgas 75/25 mix

Welds nice at 16.5-17V/ 240-250 wire speed

Granted I am extreemly anal about weld splatter and clean up, but its getting alittle time consuming.

Any ideas? Nozzle dip? Nozzle spray? Its like a damn flux core!

Thanks!
Chris

Got any pictures?

When your tank runs dry, try switching to a 92/8 mix. The more CO2 in the mix, the more spatter. More CO2 allows for more penetration, more argon reduces it.....so you'll be slightly reducing the capabilities of your machine, but with 255 amps, I wouldn't even sweat it.

This spatter you're talking about.....

Is it small, dull silver, and somewhat easily removeable?

Or is it large, shiny silver, and difficult to remove?

Is this just in one position, or all positions?

No pics, I cleaned it all up. I'll try to duplicate it.

This is a new tank, but if I cant get it under control by then, I'll switch.

The splatter is a little of both. Some I can knock off with my glove, others will require a screw driver and ocasionally I will have to take a hammer to it. And its in all positions, but I mostly weld in one. I can see the splatter through my mask. It's like it pours out of the tip like a waterfall.

Thank you
Chris
