Jeep TJ control arm bracket measurements?

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone knows the stock control arm bracket inside diameters?
I am trying to work out what size and width bushings or joints to use for some custom short control arms so that they can just be bolted in to the stock brackets.

Rear lower bracket axle end I.D - 70mm
Rear lower bracket frame end I.D - 68mm
Rear upper bracket axle end I.D - 50mm
Rear upper bracket frame end I.D - 48mm

Front lower bracket axle end I.D - 68mm
Front lower bracket frame end I.D - 68mm
Front upper bracket axle end I.D - 52mm
Front upper bracket frame end I.D - 54mm

I have measured mine but they are bit beaten up and I do not have a vernier to get a really accurate measurement with.

I was also wondering the approximate length of short control arms for a 4" lifted TJ.
Once again I have measured mine which has a 4" spring lift with adjustable lower arms and an SYE but still using a standard style driveshaft.

Rear lower control arm length - 390mm
Rear upper control arm length - 340mm
Front lower control arm length - 395mm
Front upper control arm length - 380mm

Any help would be great.

cheers

z

I don't have anything to accurately measure them, but here's another approach:

I think the larger CA bushing is listed here under 61313 or BR234 or K3131. (roughly the 13th row in the table)

http://slideruhl.pirate4x4.net/tech/..._reference.pdf

disclaimer, I had to walk back through some steps to find this.

A few years ago. I started off with the clevite bushing number printed on the bushing of the factory CAs, did a web search and found that pdf, and from the pdf found the moog part number. From this part number my Napa guy was able to look up napa part number.

Stu, who had a writeup on replacing CA bushings added the info to his site, ( Thanks Stu !!!)

Assuming the info he has there came from me, and assuming I searched correctly, and assuming the cross reference is correct, then this should give you the info you need

YMMV

I vaguely recall a smaller bushing on some of the arms. I think I've got some of my original CAs in a box, in near-new condition so I should be able to read the clevite number off the bushing and then you can look them up in the cross reference.

ps: here's the link to stu's page wtih the part number
