AntiRock on a stock or near stock Jeep

I am planning to buy Currie hoop bumper, but it says I have to switch over to AntiRock. I eventually plan to run ~4" lift, but that's stage 2 in about a year. Is it just a matter of getting a shorter all-thread to use in the meanwhile?

Ummmm... Maybe wait and do the Antirock and the new bumper after the lift.

Obligatory warning: Antirock is for 6-cylinder TJs only. 4-cylinter engine jeeps are balanced differently and the Antirock torsion bar is too stiff for them causing decreased front end traction performance.

There is a bumper out there that is similar to Currie's, except it works with the stock sway bar. The downside to that bumper: the winch sticks out further.

Sergey is talking about the Hanson Ent. Sierra Shorty bumper. It has a riser built in to it at the back to accomodate the stock swaybar which will work for you now and also for when you go to an Antirock. Yes the winch sticks out a bit further than the Currie but its only 1" which has never been a problem for me.

Wayne Hanson is a great guy to deal with. I got a good price and it showed up when he said it would.

I *think* you could mount the swaybar brackets on top of the bumper as long as it clears the hoop. Please verify before purchase.

I've heard this possibility as well.

If you don't mind running without that goofy plastic swaybar cover, just mount the swaybar on top of the winch deck. Works fine.

i guess, i'm confused, cause Currie site says that the bumper allows the winch to sit lower and closer to the radiator, so i figured, it because the sway bar is not there anymore.

Bad news, I just checked and the braces for the hoop run right through where the swaybar sits. It's the non hoop bumper you can bolt up the swaybar on top of the bumper.

It does however appear that a winch would fit, but just barely. Although I did see a new version of the bumper with two sets of winch holes. One set decidedly forward of where all the others I have seen are.

What is the problem putting the antirock on at the same time?

I'm sure you could get it to hook work with the shorter rod.

my winch is mounted in the "decidedly forward " location of the Currie bumper. It looks like there's enough room back there for the track bar, if the non-hoop version has these two set of mounting holes.
