Winch Lines

Is the regular MasterPull 5/16" x 125ft winch line any good? I found a good price on it HERE and it got me curious if it was as good as the Amsteel Blue stuff (or do they use a similar 6 strand version of Samson Rope with a different color?). Does anyone happen to know?

I have the 5/16" MP line and it has worked great. That said, I'd recommend the 3/8" line. In addition to it being stronger, it wraps up nicer on the drum as well.

Get the 3/8's. btw- I'd verify those prices before you get too committed.

So do you have to get 100ft instead of 125ft if you get the 3/8" line?

Length depends on the winch - I know I would be happier with 90' of the 3/8's line on my 9.5XP. The 105' I have on there now is a tad to long. If your winch has integrated solenoids, you can probably fit the 100' or 105' just fine.

I guess I'm too late to tell you that for like $30 more you could have x-line, huh?

It's not on the front page of their site anymore, but I thought it was on sale for $199. Maybe give them a call? I thought it was on till the end of November....I was hoping to get myself set up by then.
