Actually, I will probably not get the chance to go, but even with the crowd, it is a kick. Something like 1200 registered vehicles and a bunch who don't pay I am sure. You see an amazing collection of vehicles. The rock crawling crowd forgets there are a whole bunch of Jeeps out there running the dunes. These guys run big HP 454 Jeeps or 350s on Nitrous, etc. Sound a lot like my boat! Lots of different designs. It is a wonderment to walk the wash full of Jeeps and whatnots to see what people build and drive. We live a sheltered life on this board. The hard core run on Sunday used to be a blast. It was basically a follow me if you can run and got harder as it ran. Garry and I used to really look forward to that run. They made it easier a couple of years ago because some people complained about it being too tough. One of the magazines also did an article on a Jeep that rolled over on its side. They had a contest for people to figure out how many things the guy had screwed up. Shucks, he just laid it on its side, no one got hurt. Pushed it back and continued. Scared the guy in front of me so, that he wanted to be winched back up so he wouldn't do it.

I would recommend going if you've never been. Plan on it taking all day and just having a good time.

Man, looks like he could have driven outof that. Hard right on the wheel and a tender pedal and he could have gotten in upright real quick.

I've seen guys drive out situationmuch worse than that. Kilby comes to mind. He does that on a regular basis.

The crowds always kept me away from TDS before but after this trip (and now knowing how easy it is to enjoy the crowds without becoming part of them) I'll definitely be back next year, it was a great time. Different terrain but alot of fun, my favorite part has to be the skiing action on the steep soft descents, tearing it up on the climbs is pretty cool too though.

Sheesh...

That's what I was supposed to do. Shoot, and I thought going endo was the way down..

Who knew?!!

A little abject humour there.

It's pretty fun out there. When we head out, usually one person leads until they can't make it on a given line. Then, the person behind takes the lead until they can't make it.. then the next, the next, etc.

It's all a load of fun until Anders gets in front.
