New Brake Kit folks...

for anyone who's already installed it, got any pics of the way the pads and shims sit in the caliper?

I tried to post some photos for you Brian but I guess we can't upload photos in JeepBBS from a disk. Send me your email address and I'll send you 3-4 .jpgs from when Blaine and I installed mine a few weeks ago.

Brian- can you post them? I've never installed pads with shims, I don't want to mess it up. Or if someone could send them to me, I can host them on my server.

E-mailing you the pics I got from one customer, not the best but it'll get you in the right direction.

Here they are, I reduced them to a smaller file size. Email me if you need the full size ones.

That thing is really looking good.

BTW Van, your Hydroboost kit saved my a$$ on the freeway this morning! I had to take the Jeep this morning and a guy in the lane next to me decided to do an abrupt lane change in front of me without looking. With all the rubber on the ground with 35's, the HB enhanced brakes stopped me faster than one would believe.

No joke, things would not have been pretty with my stock anti-lock (they weren't strong enough to lock the tires ) brakes.

Ordered mine today! Took the wheels off after Rubicon trip last weekend and noticed how bad the divots were in the sliders.

Almost done installing mine. Just have to bleed the brakes and then on to testing them.

All the pads appear to be identical except for the wear indicator.

Does it matter whether the wear indicator goes on the inside/outside pad or the top/bottom of the pad or is it just where you can see it best?

TIA

Van had mentioned that it should go on the inside since that pad wears a little faster. Having said that, on mine, on my passenger its on the inside and the driver side on the outside. I don't think it really matters too much if you keep an eye on your pads fairly regularly
