date for the Rookie Run?

any news yet on when the Rookie Run is going to be?
I'd like to plan to be there if it's somewhere in January or the beginning of February ...

Mr. Bransford has expressed interest in attending this season, so we will let him pick the date that will ensure his presence.

I'm looking for sometime mid to late January.

Jerry - you had better bring a break bar with you - I'm going to borrow it!

If the dates end up being between Jan 7th & Feb 18th I suppose I could fly back from Hawaii over the designated weekend to attend.

Heh, nothing like a little pressure guys! Well the wife didn't exactly say no to me this morning when I mentioned this so that was good. January 13-14 is bad for me too as that's when the Superstition Mountain run happens.

How February 2-3? Is that too late? I have to keep my son's Sea Cadet (Navy related) activities with drill two weekends each month in mind as he wants to go and I don't think he has drill that weekend. My wife wants him to go with me too and I always enjoy it when he's out wheeling with me. This date will also give me time to finish the PS pump and cooler installation.

Breaker bar? For what it's worth I'll have my extra-long breaker bar with me.

I think it also be a very good idea to buy a new clutch now and bring it with me as a spare for this run, my existing clutch is getting a bit long in tooth. I still want to do the auto conversion but I'd hate for the clutch to go while in JV.

Not at all Jeff. But hey, I won't let you spot for me again unless you tell me what the breaker bar is for.

J/k of course as I won't forget how much you and your spotting really helped me my first time through Sledge!

Well ok, maybe I should replace the clutch now afterall. It's not giving any signs at all it's going but it's got a lot of miles on it.

Correction to my suggested dates, I meant the weekend of Febrary 3rd and 4th. I was off a day. I now have a new Luk clutch from Dial-a-Clutch on order by the way.

You should look into one of those new fangled 4:1 reduction clutches

[ducking] If a power steering installation takes three months, the clutch will take a year [/ducking]

We haven't even started.

With your Dial-a-Clutch did they also give you the number to Dial-an-Axle?

How about needaspotter.com?

While your at it, see if you can register at co2sucks.com and yorksrule.com After that you can hit up Dial-a-York cause I'm pretty sure yours is on it's last legs after the Karma hit you gave it the other day.

BTW-you do remember the lesson the rock gods gave you last time out?

Remember when Sergey high centered and you hopped up on the back of your rig to take a pic to show the world how great automatics were? It was about a 100 yards past that they decided to get even with you.

If you do that this trip, you're winching yourself out. Always respect the rock gods, they will slap you down hard.

We've even had some folks pack up their tent before heading out to the trail. Very bad juju.

Yes I took a pic of Sergey who was stuck in soft sand but I took a lot of pics that day... and if you think I did so to ridicule his automatic, then you are mistaken. My pro-automatic feelings are well known, you've seen many of my countless pro-automatic threads.

Based on your apparent hard feelings Blaine, though I hope I misunderstood what you said, maybe I just shouldn't even go now. I feel like I just got slapped down.

I have absolutely no hard feelings Jerry and it's all just good natured teasing with no harm meant whatsoever. I ain't gonna let you off the hook that easy.

Besides, you didn't think I had any hard feelings when we were installing your brakes and if you even remotely think I do things like that for folks I dislike, then you're a poorer judge of character than I thought.

I ignore folks I dislike. Are you being ignored?

Razzing is fun, I hope that's all it really was. I don't normally get butt-hurt all that easily. Thanks Erik.

Well good, thank you Blaine and that's what I was hoping you were doing. I guess I was just at that time of the month or somethin'. I promise to not get all butt hurt again so danged easily in the future.
