Dusy Interest?

FWIW......I am hiking Half Dome in Yosemite the weekend of July 28th. I've already confirmed my reservations at Currie Village for the 28th, 29th and 30th. We intend to leave the tent cabin the morning of the 29th and camp as the base of Half Dome until 3-4 in the morning of the 30th and then make the ascent up the chain stairs under the full moon to watch the sunrise. We will be back at the tent cabin by the evening of the 30th. I may have some space available in the tent cabin depending on how many kids I have tagging along with me.

I will also take some time later that week after the climb to get out on the Dusy. Depending on how much time I have, I'd like to at least get up past Thompson Hill for a day or 2 and get some fishing in.

I'm looking to see if there is any interest from folks to hit the trails with me. I am hoping that with the light winter we are having, that the Dusy is open early this year. The last time Stu and I went, it was the end of September by the time we got out on the trail and the weather was not our friend. The trail didn't open unil the second week in August that year IIRC. We didn't really get to enjoy the trip all that much because of the late start so I want to go back.

Why not try swamp lake. It is the same area but a lot shorter and just as difficult. I'd be game for that. Swamp can be done in a day but it is best over 2. Last year I got 6 trout in 15 minutes.

Thats a possibility but I'd still like to shoot for the Dusy. Maybe I'll take the entire week of and run a little of both
