My 7" buffer is a Porter-Cable. Variable speed drive and only $187.00 3 1/2 years ago.......................

Porter Cable routers are top-notch too
I really like their 3.25 HP Speedmatic, 5 speed plunge router. Couple that with a 3.5" horizontal, raised panel cutter and you've got a combination that'll really cut some wood. Of course that router bit runs close to $100.00 But it works great making arched raised panel doors.
